Kazimierz Jednoróg
President of the Foundation Home for Family Rehabilitation of Children with Cerebral Palsy
Malwina Idzik worked at the “Dom” Foundation between 2011 and 2015 as a physiotherapist. Her tasks were based from doctor's orders and her own observations of the patient; she developed short- or long-term rehabilitation plans depending on needs and recommendations and conducted the resulting physical therapy.
There were no cases too complicated for her; she manifested initiative and commitment in respect of new solutions and if she determined that an intervention of another specialist was required, e.g. psychologist, speech therapist, osteopath, nutritionist, or sensory integration therapy with another physiotherapist, she would organise a meeting of specialists at which, with participation of a doctor, such decisions would be taken. She had children aged 3 months to 18 years under her care.
She perfectly fulfilled her tasks and responsibilities, showing conscientiousness, integrity, attention to the right corporate image, and extended services of the Foundation with dog therapy-Kynotherapy. Her commitment and constant drive to increase her professional qualifications, combined with her willingness to create aids useful at work, conceiving toys and equipment only to meet individual needs of each of her charges, met with approval of her superiors. Her innovative approach to physiotherapy as a global perception of the patient and commitment to professional issues resulted in her 3-week trip to Israel the purpose of which was to observe specialised centres for disabled children under the care of NDT-Bobath senior teachers: Sarah Capelovitch PT, Vardit Kindler OT and Sheri Rabino ST.
Thanks to her broad horizons, all employees of the Foundation could see how other similar facilities operated, and we were happy our standards did not differ from those found elsewhere. Our openness also allowed to introduce changes that contributed to the internal development of the enterprise and more dynamic cooperation among specialists.
Malwina Idzik was a popular employee due to her extensive knowledge and sense of humour; her opinions were appreciated by other specialists.
In stressful situations and those requiring thinking outside the box, she always maintained common sense and freshness of mind. Working with such an experienced and talented employee was a pleasure and I am convinced she will be a great asset to her new employer.
Center of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology in Opole
mgr Izabela Marklewicz-Strysz
Head Chamber of Nurses and Midwives
Ms Malwina Idzik volunteered, on an unsolicited basis, at the Center of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology in Opole (Maternity Hospital, Reymonta 8. She supported the obstetrics unit in 2014.
She demonstrated expertise and experience in the field of physiotherapy involving newborns’ diagnosis, needs and childcare. Her commitment was a huge help to parents who wanted to broaden their knowledge of practical childcare techniques, including changing nappies, bathing, picking the baby up and putting it down to support its normal motor development.
Her extensive knowledge of neurology and cranio-sacral therapy backed our maternity unit. She was indispensable with distracted children and after difficult deliveries; she lessened parents’ fears and relieved medical personnel of excessive burdens, thus enabling the latter to focus on cases that required their attention most. Her experience with newborns enabled to detect children in need of early interventions, while her high interpersonal skills allow for the excellent cooperation among the medical personnel of our unit, contributing to an atmosphere of mutual help and understanding.
Malwina Idzik is energetic, communicative and quickly becomes comfortable in a new environment.
We were particularly fond of her extensive attentiveness, sensitivity and understanding of needs of newborns, their families and our Centre. We appreciated her commitment to entrusted tasks by enabling her to train our personnel in respect of the correct movement patterns and effective techniques to calm every baby.
Dr S E & Mrs A M P Morris
Malwina Idzik has been working for our family since August 2015, in a full-time capacity for the first two months.
I was specifically looking for a nanny / childminder who would be both highly responsible with small children, and also dynamic enough to introduce our energetic girls to the type of stimulating, challenging and fun activities that they would later encounter in the nursery environment. I also needed someone who would be fit and motivated enough to push the double buggy a mile up a busy road to nursery, in all weathers.
It was a difficult remit, but Malwina exceeded expectations on all counts. She uses her professional medical experience to best advantage to tailor the girls’ physical and creative activities to their changing developmental requirements, and she has excellent ideas about appropriate games and toys, which I have been happy for her to purchase on our behalf. I feel very comfortable letting her take the girls for long walks in the buggy or play with them for long happy hours in our garden, and also for her to cook with them and to handle some of the lunch / snack preparation, since she is very interested in healthy eating.
I consider Malwina to be a very committed and dedicated individual who thinks deeply about the needs of the children under her care and has their best interests at heart. She has been adaptable enough to fit in with our somewhat complicated family circumstances, and flexible enough to fit in some unlikely working hours, often at short notice. She has been unfazed by any challenges the children have thrown at her and dealt with issues in a professional way, as one would expect from someone with her career history. She is very generous with her time and will often go beyond the call of duty.
